We will definitely be back!

We LOVED the town of Grand Marais. This hotel was the perfect location to walk anywhere in the town. It was so convenient to just walk to restaurants, shopping and the beach. The view from the room was fantastic and unexpected. The room had a little patio that overlooked the lake. It was very clean and had a nice tile shower with a double shower head. So much nicer than what I expected. They also had a very nice fitness room, which I didn’t use since the weather was great and we got lots of exercise outdoors. But this would be great in the winter or inclement weather. There was a free breakfast which was nice. They kept it clean and well maintained, which I noticed and appreciated. Can’t wait for our next trip! We will definitely stay here again!

Superior National At Lutsen Golf Course • 19.9 miles

LOCATION: 5731 Highway 61| Lutsen, Minnesota 55612, (218) 663-7195
Set between beautiful Lake Superior and the Sawtooth Mountain Range, Superior National at Lutsen pairs untamed beauty with unparalleled play. The $4.6 million renovation is now complete and it solidifies Superior National’s commitment to being among Minnesota’s Top 10 destination golf courses.

Renowned architect Jeffrey Brauer (Giants Ridge and Wilderness at Fortune Bay) refined the River and Canyon 18 to live up to Golf Digest’s rating of Superior National as one of Minnesota’s “Best Places to Play.” New features include Ohio’s Best white sand, five sets of tees, playable roughs, wider fairways and larger greens.

27 Holes of Resort Golf, Open to the Pubic
Superior National is a public golf course offering 27 holes of spectacular resort golf. Unbelievable vistas of Lake Superior and other natural features can be seen as you play around the course. The River and Canyon nines make up newly renovated “Premier 18.” The Mountain 9 is our 9-hole course ideal for an emergency 9 or a game of FootGolf. Perfect for scratch players, beginners, and everyone in between, everyone is welcome and encouraged to come play a round or two!

The River & Canyon 18 – the new Premier 18

River 9
This is the front 9 of our newly renovated Premier 18. This par 35 features five sets of tees, and is the easier of the nines to start with. As the Poplar River cuts through, it comes into play on a few of the holes, making for a challenging, natural obstacle. This course is also marked by elevation changes – uphill on holes 2 – 5, downhill on 6-8, and back uphill on 9.

Canyon 9
The back 9 of the newly renovated Primer 18. Because of the dramatic valley-like terrain, some may refer to this course as “target golf.” You’ll want to select the right club off the tee to overcome challenges like ravine ponds, the Poplar River, and narrow fairways. The par-36 has five sets of tees, is surrounded by forest, and shows off great views of Lake Superior.

Silver Bay Municipal Golf Course • 58.5 miles

LOCATION: 19 Golf Course Road, Silver Bay, MN 55614, (218) 226-3111
The Silver Bay Municipal Golf Course was built in 1959 by the Reserve Mining Company and has matured into one of the finest 9 hole layouts in the State of Minnesota. The Golf Course, which opened to the public in 1983, is now owned by the City of Silver Bay, and remains a public facility. The golf course is a very well maintained, regulation par 36 that measures 3,173 from the back tees. Surrounded by heavily forested hills, and laid out across the east branch of the Beaver River, the golf course offers both natural beauty as well as a fair challenge to the golfers that visit. >Silver Bay Municipal Golf Course website

Lakeview National Golf Course • 82.7 miles

LOCATION: 1349 Highway 61, Two Harbors, MN 55616, (218) 834-2664
